We’re delighted to have helped a very special charity golf day go with a real swing after teeing up £500 in sponsorship.
The Royal Oak Golf Day, held on Friday 15 August at Nottinghamshire Golf Club, was in aid of the Bodie Hodges Foundation.
Tiny, ten-month-old Bodie from Whetstone, near Leicester, unfortunately and unexpectedly died in 2012 following a choking accident and the foundation aims to raise £150,000 to support similar families to buy a respite holiday home for families to use after a child has been taken away from them so suddenly.
Set up by Bodie’s parents Nick and Donna, the foundation also helps to promote organ donation after such a tragic event because Bodie’s organs were also used to save the lives of four children.
Dominic Harman, Managing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, says: “When we were approached to sponsor such a very special charity and help with their golf day we were only too happy to help.
“The Hodges family live just a few miles from our Leicester office and so many of our staff had been touched by the difficult time the family suffered, are very familiar with how the foundation had formed and of course little Bodie’s story which made us all very keen to support this incredibly worthy cause.”
The Royal Oak Golf Day raised £2,200 for the Bodie Hodges Foundation. For more information about the charity and to find out how to support it, please visit www.bodiehodgesfoundation.co.uk.
