We are over the moon to announce that our staff in North Yorkshire have raised a staggering £4,738 for two local charities by participating in the Great North Run.

Butterwick Hospice, which has a number of bases across County Durham, and Boston Spa-based Martin House Children’s Hospital, were the chosen charities to receive the funds raised.

Mark Leigh, Managing Director at Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire comments: “The Butterwick Hospice and Martin House Children’s Hospital are at the heart of the communities in which we operate and provide much-needed care and support to families at very difficult times.

“We are proud to offer our support to two such important causes and are so grateful to those who sponsored us to help us raise these much-needed finds!”

A team of 11 staff from our North Yorkshire business unit participated in the race with Senior Engineer Paul Arnold completing the half marathon in just one hour and 49 minutes.

Paul explains: “This was my third time participating in the Great North Run but it doesn’t seem to get any easier!

“We are all delighted with the amount of support we’ve had. The hard work certainly paid off when we were able to present our cheques to these fantastic organisations."
