Friday 30th October saw a number of Leigh’s key dignitaries gather in style to help celebrate Taylor Wimpey’s landmark development, Pennington Wharf’s outstanding success.
The event, which was held in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), saw Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Wigan, Councillor Susan Loudon, and a number of other local councillors attend to see presentations delivered by the team.
During the event, a time capsule was also buried and featured drawings from the children at Stepping Stones Private Day Nursery and Madinah Private Day Nursery, as well as newspaper cuttings, and development information. The capsule will be opened in 2030.
Chloe Dunn, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey Manchester, comments: “We’re thrilled that so many people attended the event to help celebrate everything Pennington Wharf has provided for the Leigh community.
“Whether it be a first home, a forever home, or a job, the development has been incredibly successful in terms of providing the local community with countless benefits.”
The HCA invested £18 million to prepare the scheme for development and when complete, Pennington Wharf will feature 471 homes, commercial office space, a café, a pub, a convenience retail store and a 45 berth marina.
The development currently features a range of three and four-bedroom homes, from just £143,995.
