Our Exeter team has helped people in Plymouth get up and running with a £1,000 sponsorship towards two of the city’s athletics events.
The Plymouth 5K and 10K races took place on Sunday 6th October as part of the Britain’s Ocean City Running Series. Now in their fourth year, the two runs bring novices and more seasoned runners from across the region to the Devon city in order to go the distance and challenge themselves. This year, the event attracted over 2,500 runners who each took to the streets with their own reason to run; as their first race, for a great cause, or to beat their previous times.
David Williams, Director at Event West, said: “Our events rely heavily on the generosity of our kind sponsors. We were absolutely delighted that Taylor Wimpey was keen to get involved with an event that promotes the health and fitness of the people of Plymouth. This year’s event was a huge success with all of the runners well and truly earning their medals, T-shirts and goodie bags at the finish line.”
Melissa Langton, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Exeter, said: “The work that we do is about so much more than simply building great quality homes; we’re committed to supporting local causes and events close to our developments too. All of the races in the Britain’s Ocean City Running Series are exceptionally popular and to be able to be involved in two of these was a great honour. Well done to everyone who took part this year.”
