Date: Tuesday 08 June 2010

Football fans and their families are invited to get into the World Cup spirit when Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties launches two stunning new show homes on Saturday 19th June (11am – 4pm) at its Scholars Walk property development in Portsmouth.

The development will be decked out in World Cup finery and visitors on the day will be able to enjoy a true taste of South Africa as George and Johannes, the team behind Nyama Catering, will be preparing a traditional South African flavoured hog roast, expertly cooked on the spit.

In addition to exploring the show homes and sampling the delights of South Africa, fantastic World Cup prizes* will be up for grabs including the England Away shirt and a plasma screen TV!

Pauline Fletcher, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: “We’re delighted to be launching our stunning new show homes and thought there’d be no better way to celebrate than getting into the football spirit with a World Cup themed event.

“Anyone keen to take a look around the show homes, try some delicious food and be in with the chance of winning some top World Cup prizes should come along on the 19th and join in with the celebrations.”

The three bedroom Evesham show home perfectly demonstrates the versatile use of space and high quality build that Taylor Wimpey is renowned for. Set over three floors, the ground floor features the living room with patio doors onto a private rear garden, open plan kitchen / breakfast room and useful cloak room.

Upstairs two bedrooms and a modern bathroom occupy the first floor whilst the master bedroom with en-suite is set in the eaves, enjoying privacy away from the rest of the house.

The two bedroom Hurley show apartment would make the perfect starter pad for those looking to get onto the property ladder. The contemporary apartment features an open plan living room / kitchen; ideal for entertaining friends, master bedroom with en-suite, second bedroom and modern bathroom. It also benefits from a single garage which it’s located over.

Portsmouth offers an irresistible mix of history and heritage, shopping, a lively arts scene, and a great selection of restaurants and bars. Port Solent, which is within easy reach, is a must see attraction, with its waterside eateries, dozens of shops, cinema and regular events at the Boardwalk. Scholars Walk is set in a popular residential area of the city, on land which was once part of Highbury College.

To help make the move easier and more affordable the house builder is currently offering a range of financial incentives including part exchange, shared equity schemes and EasyMover.
