Colchester-based site manager Josh Pell has achieved his dream of joining his local police service after becoming a Special Constable with Essex Police in Braintree.
The 26-year-old, who oversees work at our Whitmore Park development, received his warrant card at a specially-adapted attestation ceremony on Monday 15th June after completing his training. He was one of nine who swore an oath to protect Essex and can now help keep the district safe.
Josh said: “I wanted to do more than just go to the gym in my spare time, so I decided to apply to be a volunteer police officer and here I am. I’m excited and my family are proud. I really want to help people and that might mean trying to encourage people to get on the right track. I hope I can make positive changes through my choices.”
Josh has aspirations to join the Essex Police Operational Support Group, which travels across the county to help detect and disrupt criminals.
A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “We want to thank all of our Special Constables that volunteer their time to give back to the community, making a difference through helping people, keeping people safe and catching criminals.”
