Ambitious new recruits to our North Midlands team are setting themselves up for a successful future in the housebuilding industry, thanks to the training offered at the region’s Sales Academy.
The challenging six-month course brings together people from a range of backgrounds with the aim of producing professional, well-rounded Sales Executives capable of working at any development across the North Midlands. Those who are accepted into the Sales Academy will complete a series of modules that cover the key skills required to help homebuyers find their ideal property and complete the purchase.
The course includes training on:
The house building industry in the UK
The financial market and mortgage products
Understanding the competition
The Taylor Wimpey product range and the basics of construction
Sales and marketing strategies
Sales Executive Molly Stephens is one of the most recent graduates of the Sales Academy. She previously worked as an apprentice negotiator at an estate agency and loved selling new build homes but didn’t have the experience required to go straight into a sales office job.
Molly said: “When I saw Taylor Wimpey advertising the ‘Trainee Sales Executive’ job it really appealed to me because I knew I could learn everything thoroughly. In my time at the Sales Academy, I was trained very well and I absolutely love the job. The team there are fantastic - everyone works together, which I love. There are a lot of courses which you can sign up for at the Academy if you feel there is anywhere you can improve, and everyone is so helpful and supportive.
“Now my accreditation as a Sales Executive has been signed off, I hope to gain even more knowledge and learn different skills. I'm looking forward to hopefully one day running my own site which I can't wait for.”
Ashley Holden is part of the current group of Sales Academy trainees. He also worked for an estate agency, where he was a Residential Sales Manager, working closely with new build developments. He decided to pursue the career path further and applied to join Taylor Wimpey. Ashley explains: “My experience so far has been very enjoyable and far more challenging than I ever expected it to be. Every day brings something new, which is exactly what I wanted in a career.
“Once the Sales Academy programme is finished, my ambition is to run my own site and be able to show exactly what I can do when standing on my own two feet.”
