Our South Midlands team interviewed their Site Manager, Gerwyn Evans, at the Tavistock Place development in Woburn Sands to find about his day to day responsibilities and being nominated for a Pride in the Job Award.
Originally from a small town off the West Coast of Wales, Cardigan Bay, Gerwyn has been a part of the South Midlands team for over three years. He said: “I wanted to find a role that challenged me and I think having the opportunity to build and create the most important place in a person’s life definitely sparked my interest. They say home is where the heart is and I think it's a great feeling to think you are building the foundations for so many memories”.
Gerwyn joined us in 2017 as an Assistant Site Manager and after receiving full training and having worked on several developments was promoted to his role as Site Manager at Tavistock Place, in Woburn Sands.
“Everything about my job is rewarding, but the most rewarding element is having a happy customer at the end of it all. My main responsibilities include health and safety monitoring, ensuring the build program is kept on schedule and quality checks throughout the build.”
Talking about his achievements whilst working on the Tavistock Place development, Gerwyn said, “I am very proud to be a part of the Taylor Wimpey team. Being put forward for this year’s Pride in the Job award is a reflection of the high quality work that myself and my team have been doing on site. I am eager to continue growing in my role as Site Manager and I look forward to developing in my career with Taylor Wimpey.”
