Young readers start a new chapter with our donation

Date: Thursday 02 March 2017

Children across the UK are looking forward to reading some fantastic new books, following a generous donation from us!

We have given thousands of pounds to schools up and down the country to fund new books. It’s all part of World Book Day, a national event which aims to encourage children to enjoy reading.

The 20th annual World Book Day took place on Thursday 2nd March 2017 to celebrate authors, illustrators and books, and to get more children reading.

We also visited several schools for special storytelling events, with lots of youngsters dressing up as their favourite book characters!

Karen Bremner, Head of Marketing for Taylor Wimpey, says: “Reading is such an important skill, as well as being great fun, so we were delighted to donate money to a number of schools across the UK and host storytelling sessions.

“It’s a great example of the way we are committed to supporting schools and other local organisations within the communities in which we build our new homes. We hope the children really enjoy their new books!”
