Emily loves helping buyers find their dream homes

Matching up property-seekers with their ideal home is one of the highlights of the job for Emily Lloyd, the youngest TaylorWimpey Sales Executive in the country to go through the company’s Sales Academy process.

Emily (21) works at the leading housebuilder’s Copt Oak Gardens development in Narborough, Leicester, and is developing herrole through the leading housebuilder’s specialised training and development for sales staff.


Under the Sales Academy scheme, new Sales Executives complete a series of modules which cover everything they need to know about the job, from the sales process to the step-by-step detail of how Taylor Wimpey’s high-quality properties are built.

Emily says: “We learn the sales process from start to finish, right from when the customer walks through the door to after they’ve moved into their new home, and we also learn about the different stages of the build, as well as customer care – it’s really interesting.”

A typical day for Emily begins with a routine check of the new development to ensure the site is looking its very best ready for visitors.

Then she hits the phones, contacting potential purchasers who have expressed an interest in Copt Oak Gardens. This can range from confirming appointments made online to view properties to contacting people who have previously been for a viewing to see if she can provide any more information.

Among the most enjoyable aspects of her role is telling would-be purchasers all about a property, and she says seeing buyers securing their perfect homes gives her plenty of job satisfaction.

Emily says: “My favourite part of the job is finding out what a prospective buyer wants and then finding them a house to meet their requirements. It’s really satisfying when I’ve helped someone to find their dream home.

“Depending on the development and the properties which are available, this can range from first-time buyers and young couples to families and older couples, all of whom have different needs.”

Emily previously sold books before she joined Taylor Wimpey in May. Her zest for sales is no surprise seeing as both of her parents work in sales roles and her grandmother also used to work selling appliances for new homes.

Emily adds: “My job is definitely enjoyable and Taylor Wimpey is a great company to work for, there is a lot of focus on enabling me to develop as a Sales Executive. I really enjoy it.”
