We will be hosting a number of homebuyer events at selected developments across west Scotland on Saturday 28th February and Sunday 1st March to help buyers understand the benefits of using our easymover scheme alongside the Scottish Government’s Help to Buy (Scotland) initiative.
During this special event weekend, we will also provide free access to Independent Financial Advisors (IFA) offering prospective buyers free independent financial advice on their individual circumstances.
Using both Help to Buy (Scotland) and easymover is a great way to get on the move, as Robert Whyte discovered when he recently moved to our Dargavel Village South development in Bishopton with his family.
Robert says: “We’ve managed to make our dream move so much earlier than I thought we’d be able to by using both the Help to Buy (Scotland) scheme and Taylor Wimpey’s easymover scheme, where they give you the benefit of their experience to help you sell an existing property.
“We’ve been able to achieve our dream move up the property ladder from a two-bedroom end terrace up to a four-bedroom detached home – so we’re just delighted and really happy with our decision to move.”
Using Help to Buy (Scotland) offered the family several benefits, as Robert explains: “The scheme saved us a fortune. We only needed a 5% deposit, and there’s all the time we need to pay of the 20% equity loan to the Scottish Government because there is no deadline or pressure to repay it – you just pay it when you can. Then we just needed a mortgage for 75% and that made our move affordable sooner.
“Taylor Wimpey’s easymover is brilliant – it’s the help you need to sell your existing property and takes away the hassle. They set us up with an IFA and arranged for a couple of estate agents to value our property and get it on the market – they even arranged our solicitor.
“To be honest Taylor Wimpey did all the hard work. They organised everything and we even saved money on our estate agent fees. We were incredibly lucky – our house was on the market one day and it was sold to the first viewer the next day so that meant that we could just focus on our move to our new home. It’s been a very busy and exciting time for everyone.”
Easymover is available at most developments throughout the west of Scotland, and it offers customers a balance of choice as well as help to sell their existing home.
