When first-time buyers John and Laura discovered The Limes at Leybourne Chase, they immediately knew our now sold-out development in West Malling, Kent, would be their ideal home.
The couple, both aged 30, were impressed with the high-quality craftsmanship of the new-build properties and moved from a modest one-bedroom flat into their stunning four-bedroom ‘Kent’ house in June 2017.
Laura says: “John and I are both very environmentally conscious so we wanted to have a sustainably built and energy efficient home and we knew we were much less likely to achieve this with an older property.
“We value preserving the natural environment and we wanted to move with a housebuilder that would keep these ethical values in mind throughout the building process. The Limes really ticked all the boxes for us as Taylor Wimpey have chosen to build the entire development to the national Home Quality Mark standard. This gave us the confidence that we were purchasing a home that is beautifully constructed, cost-effective and designed to exceed our expectations.”
With their new home overlooking a picturesque rural landscape, Laura and John are happy that Taylor Wimpey has made wildlife and plant conservation a priority when building in the area.
Laura explains: “Taylor Wimpey has really assessed the impact on the environment and every aspect of the development has been carefully planned and considered.
“They’ve worked hard to keep the established trees and I think that really adds to the unique character of The Limes. Even the trail going around the development has beautiful wild flowers maintained along the path edges.” She adds: “We’ve also got photovoltaic solar panels on our house which have helped us to save money on utilities, and it’s lovely to have the habitat box to provide a home for local wildlife.”
Laura and John chose from a variety of design upgrades within Taylor Wimpey’s interior Options range, with the help of the dedicated Sales Executives at the development.
“We spent many Saturdays in the showhome to gain an insight into what we wanted from our home, as putting our own stamp on the ‘Kent’ was something we were really looking forward to,” Laura adds. “So by the time we were in our interior Options meeting, John and I both were very clear on what we wanted for our new house and the Sales Executives were very accommodating of our ideas.
“Speaking to the Taylor Wimpey staff felt as if we were calling our friends! As first-time buyers, we really felt as if they looked after us very well – Laura and Debbie, the Sales Executives, took great care in explaining the buying process clearly every step of the way.
“Suzanne, who handles post-purchase care, was amazing and really helped us settle in, while Craig the Site Manager doesn’t hesitate to offer to help us with whatever we need and give us DIY advice too. They feel just as much a part of the community as our neighbours!
“I’m very happy that John and I have found a wonderful sense of community at The Limes.”
