Students from the University of Northampton will benefit from internships and work experience placements with Taylor Wimpey through a ground-breaking partnership agreement.

The university has teamed up with us to enable its students and graduates to learn from our expertise by undertaking work-shadowing and work experience.

In turn, our staff will be able to take advantage of accredited training programmes with the university in recognition of their involvement in the partnership.

Dominic Harman, Managing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, says: “Our partnership with the University of Northampton represents a fantastic opportunity for Taylor Wimpey to play a key role in helping students get a head start in the development industry.

“What’s more, this agreement will be mutually beneficial as it provides the chance for our own staff to develop their careers by gaining new qualifications through a number of different training programmes available through the university.

“We are delighted to be working with the University of Northampton through this innovative partnership and look forward to welcoming the first students to Taylor Wimpey.”

I am delighted that through our partnership with Taylor Wimpey we will be able to offer students valuable real-life experience with one of Britain’s largest home builders.”

The agreement is called the 1265 Partnership, after a key moment of the university’s history. While the University of Northampton only gained full university status in 2005, it can trace its history back to the 13th century having been first established by Royal Charter in 1261, before being dissolved by the king in 1265. 

We are committed to training and education, employing bricklaying, carpentry and joinery apprentices, while offering a management trainee programme and a graduate scheme in various sectors of the business.
