Our Yorkshire business unit is proud to be sponsoring Allerton Bywater Cricket Club in West Yorkshire for the fourth year running.
We’ve contributed to the club in recent years to support the upgrading of its facilities and grounds, and this season we’ve provided a cash boost towards new balls for use in training and matches.
Richard Lamb, chairman at Allerton Bywater Cricket Club, comments: “The cost of running an amateur cricket club doesn’t come cheap, and each year we rely on support from businesses to sustain the club’s growth, and to fund the community’s love of cricket.
“The cricket club is open to people of all ages, both those who have grown up with the sport, and those who have never picked up a bat before, so we’re extremely grateful to Taylor Wimpey for its generous contributions, which enable us to provide training and equipment for the teams.”
The club has 35 players, spanning junior and senior members of the community. The teams currently play in the Pontefract and District Cricket League on Saturdays.
Anne Bagshaw, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, comments: “Sports clubs like Allerton Bywater Cricket Club are extremely important for local communities, and encourage people of all ages to remain active, so when we heard they were in need of new cricket balls, we were more than happy to help out.
“With our Kensington Park development just a short distance away from the club’s grounds, we are sure we will see many of our residents join the club in the future.”
Richard concludes: “On behalf of the entire club, I’d like to say a huge thank you to Taylor Wimpey for their continued support, it really does make all the difference.”
Kensington Park offers a stunning collection of four-bedroom homes.
