This year’s Dunbar Rugby Football Club minis tournament, which we sponsored, was a huge success, with hundreds of children taking part.

This year’s event was staged at Hallhill Healthy Living Centre in Dunbar on Sunday 18th  May, and was bigger than ever before, with around 400 children from ages P3 to P7 from Dunbar, Duns, Haddington, Preston Lodge and Dalkeith taking part.

This year’s winners were:

Primary 3 – Haddington
Primary 4 – Dunbar
Primary 5 – Dunbar
Primary 6 – Portobello and Currie (joint winners)
Primary 7 – Currie

Karen Armstrong, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, says: “We’re delighted to have supported such a popular local event for the fourth year in a row, and it was clear from the buzz at the end of the matches that it was a great day out for everyone involved.

“Our development of new homes at Gospatrick Grange in Dunbar is delivering 130 family homes, and is undoubtedly attracting new families to the area - so this sponsorship has allowed us to extend our support and commitment in the local community of Dunbar.”

Dunbar Rugby Club Mini Co-ordinator Finlay Graham says: “This year’s event was a great success and the good weather made for an excellent turnout of support for the children involved in the matches.

“We’re thrilled to have Taylor Wimpey as our main sponsor for this event, and it was particularly satisfying to see every child who had taken part receive a medal and they all looked extremely proud of their achievements whether they won or lost.

“The Club enjoys fantastic support from its sponsors, volunteers, coaches, referees, parents and most importantly the all the kids who ensure that the tournament remains a great success each year!”
