One of our site manager apprentices has realised a personal ambition by completing the Longleat Half Marathon – while raising cash for charity.
Roddy Webster, aged 24, spent months preparing for the 13-mile race in the grounds of the famous stately home and completed the course in 2 hours and 14 minutes. Thanks to generous sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues he raised a total of £150 for the British Heart Foundation.
Roddy says: “I decided to run a half marathon as a personal goal but also to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, which is such a good cause.
“The challenge of doing a half marathon has been a goal of mine for a number of years but due to work commitments and injuries I have never had the time to prepare for it properly until now.
“I had a great day and was really pleased with my time – and it’s also brilliant to have been able to raise money for such a fantastic charity. I’d like to thank everyone for sponsoring and supporting me, including my colleagues, who have been really generous.”
