A community tennis club in Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, has netted a £500 sponsorship deal with our South Midlands team.
Chairman of Aston Park Tennis Club, Barbara Wilkinson, says: “Taylor Wimpey got in touch to see if there was any way they could help our club. When we got the news that we were going to receive £500 it was absolutely brilliant – it really is fantastic to have their support.”
The club, which has three floodlit hard tennis courts, will use the money to purchase new heavy-duty freestanding tennis posts.
“We have one court that is used for netball as well as tennis,” explains Barbara. “At the moment the posts on that court slot into the ground and it is very difficult to move them which is a problem when the netball team need to use the court.
“Thanks to the £500 from Taylor Wimpey we can now buy freestanding posts with wheels, which will make such a big difference to everybody who uses the court – it will make all of our lives much easier!
“As a club we have benefitted greatly from the houses being built by Taylor Wimpey in the village – we’ve seen quite an increase in membership numbers – so we really are appreciative of their help and would like to say thank you very much.”
Gareth Jacob, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey South Midlands, says: “Aston Park Tennis Club is a fantastic community-based organisation which opens its doors to lots of local people in the village – that’s why we decided to get in touch to see if we could help them.
“We are delighted to be sponsoring the club and we hope the new tennis posts will benefit its members and visitors for many years to come.”
There’s a fabulous choice of four and five-bedroom properties currently available to reserve at The Chilterns.
