Youth footballers at Bicester Town Colts Football Club in Oxfordshire are celebrating after securing a £500 sponsorship deal with us.
Our Oxfordshire business unit, which is currently building a range of high-quality homes across the region, including at Longford Park in Banbury, has provided the generous cash boost to the U12s team to purchase new rain jackets.
Lee Brain, U12s team manager at Bicester Town Colts, says: “We’re thrilled with the donation. The boys were growing out of the old jackets and they were very well worn.
“The team will be wearing the coats before and after matches, and the subs will be happy to keep warm and dry while they’re waiting to play. We often take the whole team on day trips so the jackets will be handy then too.”
The team is made up of 15 boys and the majority of its members have been playing together for six years, with Lee coaching them along the way. They play in the U12A division of the Witney and District Youth Football League.
Lee adds: “We’re currently doing really well. The team are playing on Saturday and they’re at the top of the league which is great.
“On behalf of everyone I’d like to say a huge thank you to Taylor Wimpey. Fundraising for local sports teams can be difficult and we can’t express enough how grateful we are.”
Nikki Gibson, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Oxfordshire, says: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the team and we wish them the best of luck with their future matches.
“We’re always keen to support local clubs and organisations that play an important role within the community, and football team sponsorship is a great example of how we can do this.”
Bicester Town Colts are made up of nine youth teams and they train weekly at The Cooper School in Bicester, while matches are held at the Bicester Sports Association in Chesterton.
There’s currently a stunning selection of three and four-bedroom homes available at Longford Park.
