After an illustrious win at the North West in Bloom competition in 2013, Shevington has upped the stakes for its national Britain in Bloom entry, with help from us.
We supported Shevington in last year’s North West competition by donating a £600 flowerbed, and for this year’s national entry we have offered a further £1,450 to cover the cost of a new bench.
Keen to have Shevington named ‘Best Town’ in the UK, Margaret Carter of Shevington in Bloom says: “Our gold win at last year’s competition was an incredible achievement and we’re so excited to be showcasing Shevington on a national level.
“To have Taylor Wimpey once again step up and support the community has made all the difference.”
Our Oakwood Meadows home scheme on Vicarage Lane will actually be a visiting spot for the Britain in Bloom judges.
Chloe Dunn, head of sales for Taylor Wimpey Manchester, says: “Oakwood Meadows is really taking shape in the heart of Shevington, so we were more than happy to continue supporting this fantastic local organisation.”
Judging for Britain in Bloom is to take place on 7th August, with a winner due to be announced in October.
