Taylor Wimpey -Borehamwood Christmas lights switch on WEB

Our team at Taylor Wimpey North Thames is no Scrooge when it comes to Christmas – as people in Borehamwood found out recently when we sponsored one of the town’s popular annual festivities!

We handed over a £500 donation towards the Borehamwood Christmas Lights display, which is organised every year by Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council.

“The lights go all along the High Street, there’s a band outside All Saints Church, concerts inside the church, a synthetic ice rink and of course Santa’s Grotto,” says Tracey Malton, Deputy Clerk of Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council.

“We’re very pleased to get sponsorship help again this year from Taylor Wimpey. The whole event costs us around £24,000 to put on, so all sponsorship help is very welcome!”

Christine Scarborough, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North Thames, says: “We are delighted to help with Borehamwood’s Christmas Lights again this year. They always look spectacular.

“As a local builder working in the community, we are keen to support a fantastic community event like this one.”

Borehamwood’s lights switch-on event took place on Sunday 29th November and special guest, EastEnders star Shona McGarty, who plays Whitney Dean in the BBC soap, performed the switching-on ceremony.

Shona, aged 24, has played the EastEnders character for seven years. She was born and went to school in Borehamwood, and still lives locally.

“We are quite proud of our community events, particularly as all of them are free to the public,” says Tracey. “We also have the Fireworks Display and a two-week Summer Festival, and they are both free as well.”

Our Gemini Park development in Borehamwood currently offers a choice of one and two-bedroom apartments.
