We have pledged £1,000 to help a young resident at The Groves, our development in Penyffordd, Wales, to have a life-changing operation.

Three-year-old Betsi Barlow was diagnosed with Diplegic Cerebral Palsy when she was just 14 months old, and is unable to sit, stand, or walk unaided.

Determined to make her life easier, her dedicated parents, Sion and Sarah, started fundraising in the local Penyffordd community for the operation.

At £21,000, and unavailable on the NHS, the private operation will hopefully enable Betsi to walk unaided and gain some much-needed independence.

Sarah says: “We are incredibly grateful to Taylor Wimpey for this generous donation, as we’re at a crucial time with our fundraising and every little helps.

“We have raised nearly £20,000 since the end of April thanks to the kindness of the local community, and we’re keen for Betsi to have the operation as soon as possible. This support has bought us a little bit closer to our goal.”

Stuart Craig, Sales Manager for Taylor Wimpey North West, adds: “At Taylor Wimpey, we like to help our residents and the surrounding community in any way that we can, and we were so moved by Betsi’s bravery and courage that we just had to offer our help.

“We really hope that Betsi and her family reach their goal, and we wish them all the very best for the future.”

Sarah concludes: “Thanks to the support of the local community and businesses like Taylor Wimpey, we’re now closer than ever to reaching our goal, so we would like to thank everyone who has helped us so far.”
