Brave Sandbach resident receives a helping hand

We have made a £500 donation towards essential equipment for a young resident living at our Bramley Wood development in Sandbach.

As a newborn George Clark, now four years old, contracted meningitis, resulting in a serious brain injury which left him unable to walk, talk or sit independently.

George’s family, who live at our Bramley Wood development, will put the money towards purchasing a new lycra suit for the youngster. This will help him to sit and stand, as well as keep his spine in line.

Lucy Clark, George’s mother, says: “George is full of fun and smiles, but he has so many limitations. Equipment such as this helps him to live his life to the fullest, so we’re very grateful to Taylor Wimpey for the donation.”

George’s brand new suit will now hopefully prevent his spine from curving, reducing the need for further spinal surgery later in life.

Chloe Dunn, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Manchester, says: “Supporting the next generation of residents at our developments is very important to us, which is why as soon as we heard about George we just knew we had to help in any way we could.

“We have been heavily involved with a number of local Sandbach organisations since Bramley Wood opened, including Sandbach Rugby Union Football Club, Sandbach Primary Academy and Kids Corner Nursery. This has created a lovely close-knit community feel to the development, and something we’re very proud of.

“We wish George all the very best for his upcoming treatment and will follow his progress closely as he grows up at Bramley Wood.”

Lucy concludes: “This suit will have a big impact on George’s life, providing him with much-needed independence.

“We’ve been bowled over by the amount support we’ve received from the Sandbach community and would like to thank everyone, including Taylor Wimpey, for their kindness.”
