NE - Durham Federation

We provided a £500 cash boost to Durham Federation FC to help fund the establishment of a brand new girls division.

With 10 existing teams at the club, Durham Federation has used the donation to deliver coaching sessions at local primary schools, attracting young pupils to join the upcoming girls’ squads.

Matt Stevenson, club secretary at Durham Federation FC, says: “We are extremely grateful for Taylor Wimpey’s generous support, which has given us a huge boost and enabled us to offer girls in the local area the opportunity to play football.

“In a short space of time, we have already seen an influx of girls interested in joining the club and we’re looking forward to playing competitive matches in the near future.”

Nearby the club, we will soon be unveiling our Middlewood Moor development on Whitehouse Lane in Ushaw Moor.

Durham Federation FC is looking to establish three new teams to cater for young female pupils, including U10s, U12s and U14s, alongside its current male division.

Karl Morton, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North East, comments: “With our new development opening just down the road from the club, it’s extremely important for us to support local projects where we can.

“We’re thrilled to be able to help Durham Federation offer football for girls for the very first time and we wish the new players the best of luck!”
