Date: Thursday 05 March 2020
We’ve supported schools across the UK with donations towards new books to celebrate World Book Day, which took place on Thursday 5th March.
Now in its 23rd year, World Book Day aims to encourage children of all ages to enjoy and appreciate the pleasures of reading. Emma Newton, Assistant Principal and Head of KS1, at Cherry Orchard Primary Academy in Ebbsfleet, said: “World Book Day is a fantastic initiative which really encourages children to develop their reading. Thanks to Taylor Wimpey’s donation, we’ll be able to improve our reading areas and add some new books to our library. We can’t wait for our pupils to get stuck into some new stories.”
Anna Powell, Head of Marketing for Taylor Wimpey, said: “We were delighted to support schools around the UK with donations to mark World Book Day. We hope pupils at all schools had a brilliant day celebrating their favourite characters and that they can all look forward to reading some new books together.”
