We’ve raised thousands of pounds for the Hertfordshire Society for the Blind this year, with a series of successful fundraising events.

The latest fundraiser was a football tournament organised by Mathew Brown, Commercial Manager at Taylor Wimpey North Thames, and held at Boreham Wood FC, which we are proudly sponsoring for the third consecutive year.

The tournament involved a team of our employees – including Management Trainee Lewis Billington, Graduate Trainee Oliver Johnson, Trainee Surveyor Tommy O’Leary, Planning Manager Andrew Holloway, Surveyor Antonios Castro, Apprentice Mathew Conlan, Sales Executive Mark Presland – playing against teams of various contractors.

The event was won by DBD Distribution, with our team progressing to the semi-finals.

Mathew Brown says: “All the football played was very competitive and to a high standard. Our boys did us proud, especially after losing to Flahive Brickwork in the group stages.

“We’re delighted to have raised £900 on the day, which we hope will rise to £1,000 once we’ve added some additional contributions from our subcontractors.

“We were also very grateful to Boreham Wood FC who gave us a football signed by all the Arsenal first team which we plan to auction off in the near future.”

Our team at Taylor Wimpey North Thames has organised a series of fundraising events for the Hertfordshire Society for the Blind this year, including a charity golf day and auction which raised approximately £20,000. A sponsored walk, a tea round, cakes sales, an Indian summer event and a bake-off event are also being planned.
