MAN - Factory Youth Zone

A charity based in the North West has received a £750 donation from our team at Taylor Wimpey Manchester.

The Factory Youth Zone in Manchester opened in February 2012 and has since helped over 4,000 young people across the region. Helping youngsters aged eight to 25, the charity offers support in a number of areas including, healthy eating advice, counselling services and even teaching employability skills.

Phil Ascott, development manager at The Factory Youth Zone, comments: “We are thrilled that our work across the North West is being recognised by a company as renowned as Taylor Wimpey.

“The money has been used to support The President’s Cup initiative. The annual competition is in aid of supporting sports and performing arts, and aims to engage young people within the Youth Zones in a multitude of activities such as Skittle Ball, Bladderball, and climbing dance and drama.”

The President’s Cup is an annual event run by The Factory Youth Zone and enables over 200 people from the centre to try numerous new sports in a fun and supportive environment.

Chloe Dunn, Associate Sales Director for Taylor Wimpey Manchester, explains: “The Factory Youth Zone is a fantastic organisation, which is why we jumped at the chance to help support them with The President’s Cup.

“The charity works in quite a number of the communities in which we build houses, so we’re thrilled to be partnering with them on this exciting initiative.”
