We’ve introduced a new initiative aimed at educating Barnsley children about the importance of health and safety in the home.

Seven schools in the region have been selected to benefit from a school safety presentation, which will encompass our new Kingstone Grange home scheme; as well as safety in the home.

Keith Chester, Site Administrator at Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, explains: “Before we launch our new Kingstone Grange development on Broadway, we were keen to assess and eliminate potential risk factors for the local community.

“We have produced a 45-minute presentation, including a short film, about the dangers encountered when three children find themselves on a construction site. We also look at safety in the home – including the garage, under the kitchen sink and chemicals.”

The presentation is aimed at children between the ages of seven and 11, and pupils across all seven schools will have the opportunity to dress up in personal protection equipment.

Kingstone Grange is due to open to the public in early December and once complete, will offer a collection of 163 homes in a range of three and four bedroom designs.

Keith adds: “We’re excited to showcase our designs at Kingstone Grange to home-hunters in the area, but safety is absolutely paramount, so these talks have come at the perfect time.

“This partnership between Taylor Wimpey and the schools also highlights the teachers’ dedication to ensure children are safe both in and out of school, and we’re really grateful they’ve all got on-board.”
