Penyffordd Football Club has made further improvements to its grounds and clubhouse thanks to a cash boost from our North West team.
The club, which is based just a short distance from The Groves development, has received £500 towards straightening and painting its barriers as well as upgrading its clubhouse in order to extend the officials changing rooms.
Mark Woodward, chairman at Penyffordd Football Club, comments: “Taylor Wimpey’s kind donation has enabled us to make much-needed improvements to our grounds, which we had been hoping to make for some time to ensure our pitch and facilities are in line with the league’s strict guidelines.
“The preparation and upkeep of the ground is often costly so support like this is fundamental to the running of the club.”
Penyffordd Football Club currently plays in the Premier Division of the Welsh National League and has two senior teams in addition to a junior sector which operates from U8s to U16s.
Stuart Craig, Sales Manager for Taylor Wimpey North West, explains: “With The Groves development now based right in the heart of the village, we understand the integral role which Penyffordd Football Club plays in the community.
“The club is important to many local residents and provides a great centre for people to not only get fit but to socialise too, so we jumped at the chance to offer our support.”
Mark concludes: “Penyffordd is all the better for having a strong football club and Taylor Wimpey’s generous support has played a major role in ensuring we are able to maintain the club for the good of the village.”
The Groves is based on Poppy Field Drive and currently features a selection of three and four-bedroom homes.
