We welcomed members of the local community to our Parc y Strade development in Llanelli for a special event celebrating the heritage of the site.
Local dignitaries joined Taylor Wimpey staff for the celebratory event at the development, which is located on the site formerly occupied by the Scarlets and Llanelli rugby clubs’ Stradey Park ground before the clubs moved to a new state-of-the-art stadium in 2008.
Members of the two rugby clubs were among the guests at the event on Thursday 3rd July, where people enjoyed music from local women’s choir Cor Curiad and Llanelli-based pianist Andrew Harries.
There was also a special prize draw with the £500 jackpot being donated to a charity of the winner’s choice.
Shaun White, Managing Director for Taylor Wimpey South Wales, who gave a speech at the event, says: “It was absolutely wonderful to see so many people from the local community joining us for this fabulous event, which we decided to hold to celebrate the unique history of the Parc y Strade site.
“This land holds special meaning for people in Llanelli, who are passionate about their rugby, and it was a great opportunity for us to find out more about the heritage of the site.
“I’d like to thank everyone who came along to our afternoon of festivities and made it such a successful occasion.”
