Builders at our Trevenson Meadows development in Newquay, Cornwall, took time out of their busy schedule to pass on some of their expertise to the builders of the future.
Year 12 students who are working towards a Maintenance Operations Level 2 Diploma at Bodmin College visited the development along with construction tutor Mike Phillips to experience a site induction and find out about various stages of construction as well as the welfare and storage facilities at the site.
Janine Copleston, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Exeter, says: “Our stunning development at Trevenson Meadows may be Newquay’s newest neighbourhood, but we’re already enjoying playing a big role in the wider community.
“We are delighted to be able to help give local construction students a greater understanding of the building industry.
“Our builders at Trevenson Meadows are extremely experienced and have a wealth of knowledge and skill, so it is fantastic they can hand some of their expertise down to the builders of tomorrow.”
Mike said: “Bodmin College Construction Department would like to continue with visits over a long period to see the development grow and to demonstrate to future pupils the requirement of a high standard of construction work conducted in a safe working environment.”
We’re currently building new homes at our Trevenson Meadows development in Trevenson Road, Newquay, Cornwall.
