Cottam Primary School cooks up a treat
Children at Cottam Primary School are enjoying exploring the delights of their brand new outdoor mud kitchen thanks to our North West business unit.
Our team contributed £500 to buy the new equipment for the school, which is situated close to our Hayfield Park and Hayfield Manor developments near Preston.
Mrs Wright, Deputy Headteacher of Cottam Primary School, explains: “Outdoor play and learning has been proven to help with children’s growth, confidence and development. Mud kitchens give the pupils the freedom to play, explore and expand their imaginations, and we’re all extremely grateful to Taylor Wimpey for this generous contribution.
“The children are very much enjoying developing their language and conversation skills as they work together to share ideas and exchange conversations, as well as improving their sensory skills by squelching and feeling the texture of the mud.”
As well as improving vocabulary and conversation, mud kitchens also help children to excel when building on their imagination skills, as well as helping them to connect with nature.
Emily Nicklin, Sales Manager at Taylor Wimpey North West, says: “We’re thrilled to have contributed to Cottam Primary School and to hear the children are having great fun developing lots of new skills on the playground.
“We have a number of families living at our Hayfield Park and Manor developments who I’m sure will be delighted to hear that the local school is investing is such forward-thinking learning tools to equip pupils with the best life skills required for later in life.”
Mrs Wright concludes: “A big thanks again to Taylor Wimpey for their continued support – the children are having a great time with the kitchen and it’s a joy to see.”
There’s a wonderful selection of three and four-bedroom homes available at Hayfield Park as well as four-bedroom properties at Hayfield Manor.
