Our North West team has made a £550 contribution to Community Recycle Cycles.

The community initiative was set up in 2012 to refurbish and recycle donated bikes and sell them on at an affordable cost. The shop, which is run by volunteers, provides affordable bikes, bike repair services, training courses and group rides to get the community active and confident in their cycling.

Our contribution will go towards training six member of the Community Recycle Cycles team to lead group rides.

Annette Cormack, director at Community Recycle Cycles comments: “We’re thrilled Taylor Wimpey has chosen to invest in our initiative.

“Cycling is a great way to stay active and it has the added benefit of meaning the car is left at home. A lot of people learn to ride as a child but many don’t continue and can lose confidence in their ability.

“Leading group rides gives us the opportunity to help members of the community build their confidence when it comes to cycling while making sure they are staying safe on the road.”

Community Recycle Cycles is located a short distance from Taylor Wimpey’s Willowbrook Grange development in Shavington, Crewe

Emma Lockley, sales manager for Taylor Wimpey North West, comments: “Since launching our show homes in June last year we’ve been very lucky to be part of the truly lovely community in Crewe.

“We were keen to give something back and Community Recycle Cycles is a wonderfully unique initiative that will help all members of the community to get back on their bikes, build their confidence and keep fit.”
