We were one of the supporters of this year’s Evesham Vale 10k race.

The event, organised by Evesham Vale Running Club, saw runners taking to the streets, parks and riverside paths of historic Evesham on Sunday 13th July.

Proceeds from the race will go to Evesham Abbey Bell Tower Appeal, which is looking to generate £500,000 to carry out essential maintenance works to the Grade I-listed bell tower, built in 1530.

The tower’s last maintenance work was in 1951 and it requires significant repairs to the stonework, the ironwork and the weathervanes.

We donated £650 towards the race, having already sponsored a Brass, Pipes and Drums concert in aid of the bell tower appeal in May to the tune of £500.

Anne Wallace, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “Our sponsorship of the Evesham Vale 10k confirms our commitment to investing in the communities in which we build. As well as being a great community event in its own right, the race has also helped to raise funds for a fantastic local appeal.

“The Evesham Abbey Bell Tower is an important local landmark and we are pleased to have been able to get involved again with fundraising towards the conservation of this historic building.”

If the fundraising appeal is successful, it is hoped that the maintenance work on the bell tower will begin in February 2015. To find out more about the appeal, visit www.eveshambelltower.org.uk

We are currently building new homes at Lavender Fields in Evesham.
