NEWS - TWY - Cricket club donation

Our Yorkshire team has donated £500 to Featherstone Town Cricket Club in Wakefield. The cash donation will contribute to the much-needed artificial wicket at the cricket ground.

Founded in 1919, Featherstone Town Cricket Club play on their home turf close to the region’s Colliers Court development.

John Newnham, Treasurer at Featherstone Town Cricket Club, comments: “Taylor Wimpey’s donation is such a great help and one amateur sports clubs like ours cannot do without.

“It’s great to see the homebuilder support the local Featherstone community and their latest donation will benefit the youngsters at the cricket club, who thanks to their cash boost, can continue to expand their skill set. It allows all of our teams to fulfil the many games they have planned.”

Sam Evans, head of sales at Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, adds: “We’re proud to support local clubs and initiatives. As a responsible homebuilder, we always aim to contribute to and give back to the communities in which we build. We know this cricket club plays an important role in the Featherstone community – especially as it caters for all ages.

“We wish the teams the best of luck and hope they enjoy playing on their new artificial non-turf wicket when it’s fitted.”
