Flying the flag for local Dunbar Primary School

Date: Thursday 27 February 2020

Taylor Wimpey East Scotland challenged the Primary 6 pupils of Dunbar Primary School to design a flag to mark the launch of our latest phase of new homes at  Albany Grange in Dunbar.

The winning design by Primary 6 pupil, Kyla Doyle, has been produced into a flag that now flies at the entrance to our development welcoming new visitors, existing customers and homeowners alike.  Kyla won a £50 cinema voucher, a framed copy of her winning design and the opportunity to visit the development with five classmates to see the flag flying high.
The judges also picked five other commended flag designs who were awarded a £15 voucher each and a framed copy of their design.

The whole year group from Primary 6 rose to the challenge of this fun competition as Jaclyn Eeles, Depute Head Teacher at Dunbar Primary School adds:  “Having the opportunity to work with Taylor Wimpey to design a flag to welcome new visitors to their local development in Dunbar has been an unusual challenge.   The children enjoyed tackling their brief to create a bold and colourful design, and I understand the judges found it hard to choose a winner due to the quality of all the designs entered.  Kyla’s flag now flies every day, which is a lovely connection between our school and the local Taylor Wimpey development at Albany Grange.”

Kirsty McGill, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland said: “We recognise the importance of making sure that we support the communities in which we build our new homes.  It has been our pleasure to work with Dunbar Primary on this project to strengthen and extend our links once again with the local community of Dunbar.”
