Our regional business Taylor Wimpey South Wales has made a cash donation to the Cardiff-based Griffiths Ings team who took part in the annual Welsh Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for a local children’s charity.
We sponsored the group £250 for the challenge, raising funds for Tŷ Hafan, one of the UK’s leading paediatric palliative care charities based nearby in Cardiff.
The nine members of the group, who work at Griffiths Ings Property Lawyers, completed the challenge on Sunday 21st June, scaling Wales’ three highest mountains in one day – Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan.
Julian Ings, Managing Director for Griffiths Ings Property Lawyers, says: “Everyone at the firm decided to get together as a team to raise money for Tŷ Hafan children’s hospice, which is based only a few miles away from us and does fantastic work providing care for terminally ill children.
“I’ve taken part in this challenge previously, but this is the first time we’ve done it as a firm. We were awake and walking at 4am on the day, with approximately 80 other teams also taking part in the challenge.
“This year was the hardest. The weather was treacherous, as we only had 30 metres of visibility ahead of us, and horizontal driving rain which caused the rocks to be very slippery. But it was completely worth it as we’ve managed to raise a total of £1,600 for the hospice.”
Griffiths Ings has worked with us throughout the South Wales region, which is why Julian decided to ask for our support.
Julian adds: “I decided to approach Taylor Wimpey as we have worked closely with them in the past, and have a very good relationship.
“Taylor Wimpey’s sponsorship is greatly appreciated and we would all like to say thank you very much for their help. We can assure them that our blood, sweat and tears went into completing the challenge!”
