As part of our ongoing commitment in supporting local communities, our East Midlands regional team has recently sponsored £650 to fund a new match kit for Harborough Town Football Club under 10’s girls team.

Based in Market Harborough, Harborough Town FC was founded in 1975 and merged with Spencer United in 2008 and Harborough Minis to create one club from under 5’s to senior football. There are currently 49 teams at the club ranging from junior girls and boys teams to adult teams, with the 1st team playing in the Future United Counties League. In November 2018, the club officially opened their new state-of-the-art third generation pitch at the Harborough Community Football Ground, which will support the creation of 22 new teams over the next five years.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Alex Lindsay, Coach of Harborough Town FC U10’s girls team, said: “It’s our goal to help players at the club achieve their full potential and gain life long skills, as well as develop a love for the game. We offer an enjoyable and positive environment along with great new facilities to help inspire young footballers.

“We’re incredibly grateful for Taylor Wimpey’s generous donation to fund the new match kits for the girls under 10’s team. The players really look the part and are so proud to represent their club.”

Rob Curry, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, added: “We pride ourselves on working closely with local teams and organisations in the communities in which we build our new homes. Local organisations, like Harborough Town FC, do great work in communities by giving residents the chance to join a team and learn new skills. We’re proud to sponsor the match kit for Harborough Town FC under 10’s girls team. We’re looking forward to the season ahead and wish them the best of luck in their upcoming matches.”
