A well-supported golf day organised by our East Anglia team has raised an impressive £7,550 for a deserving cause in the region.
We arranged the sporting event in September 2015 at the stunning Stoke by Nayland golf course and hotel in Leavenheath, Suffolk.
A total of 27 teams took part, comprising some of our staff members and their contractors, and the sponsorship money was achieved via entrance fees, donations and a raffle, all in aid of the nook appeal – an appeal run by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
Steve Rolt, Managing Director of Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, says: “We were delighted with the fantastic amount of money raised for such a deserving cause.
“We would like to thank all our staff members who supported the event as well as our contractors. Not only was it a fun event, but it also helped Taylor Wimpey to support a great charity in our community.”
EACH supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.
Its care and support is tailored for the needs of all family members and delivered where the families wish – either in their own home, at hospital, in the community, or at one of its three hospices in
Ipswich in Suffolk, Milton in Cambridgeshire, and Quidenham in Norfolk.
The nook appeal aims to raise funds for a much needed brand new hospice called the nook, which will be set within peaceful woodland on a five-acre site in the parish for Framingham Earl, approximately five miles south of Norwich.
Gemma Smith, Corporate Fundraiser at EACH, says: “We would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at Taylor Wimpey who were involved in organising the golf day and everyone who took part. This is an incredible amount to have raised and it will go such a long way towards making the dream of a new hospice in the heart of Norfolk a reality.”
A representative from the charity visited our East Anglia head office at Castle House in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, in November, for tea and cake to celebrate the fantastic charity total raised.
