We gave some ‘eggstra’ help to a school in Oxted by donating £100 towards its big Easter fundraiser.
We made the donation to Holland Junior School, which is near to our Meridian Square development in Hurst Green, near Oxted, to provide prizes for two competitions taking place in the run-up to the event – a ‘decorate an egg’ contest and an Easter egg hunt.
The fun culminated on Saturday 22nd March in the big Easter Eggstravaganza, involving the whole school community, with each class organising little games in their classrooms, and tombolas, a raffle and a range of other stalls in the school hall.
The event was officially opened at 1pm by Liz Parker, the vice-chairman of Tandridge District Council.
Ann-Marie Saumarez, from Holland School Association, says: “The Easter Eggstravaganza is our biggest fundraising event in the year and it makes a huge difference having support from local companies such as Taylor Wimpey.
“We wanted to make things really exciting and fun for the children as well as trying to raise money, so being given such a substantial donation for prizes means we can make more profit for the school.”
The school is also hoping to run sports activities in conjunction with local rugby and football clubs outside, to raise some extra money for Sport Relief.
This is the second time we have supported the school’s fundraising activities – we also donated a fabulous festive food hamper for the school’s Christmas Cracker event.
Jason Stokes, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “We are delighted to continue our association with Holland Junior School, as we are committed to supporting the communities in which we build our new homes.
“I hope Holland School Association had a very successful Easter Eggstravaganza Event, providing lots of fun for the pupils as well as raising plenty of money for the school.”
