Our Manchester business unit is thrilled to announce that it will be supporting Teams4U’s Christmas Shoe Box Appeal for 2015, by encouraging families in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Wigan and Cheshire to donate necessities to families in Eastern Europe this festive season.

Our developments will act as shoe box drop-off points between the 16th and 30th November this year – to enable families in the region to give something back to those less fortunate in time for Christmas.

Ziz York, Project Co-ordinator at Teams4U, says: “It’s amazing to have the support from a company as renowned as Taylor Wimpey, so we cannot thank the team enough.

“We’re asking people to donate necessities such as toothbrushes, soap, hats and scarves, as well as a few nice-to-haves that many of us take for granted such as sweets, games and toys. In addition to the children’s boxes, we have our ‘Mama Boxes’ – for these we’re asking for home essentials such as small saucepans, plastic utensils, cups and bowls.”

This year is the Christmas Shoe Box Appeal’s 25th anniversary, so Teams4U is set to provide 25,000 boxes to vulnerable families across Eastern Europe. The charity is also asking people to make a small donation of £2 per box they submit, which will cover the cost of transportation.

Chloe Dunn, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Manchester, says: “The Christmas Shoe Box Appeal is an incredible initiative and one we’re only too happy to be supporting.

“Our developments will be open for drop-offs during the last two weeks of November, and we’re anticipating lots of locals to offer their support for this amazing and worthwhile cause.”

Ziz concludes: “We would like to thank the team at Taylor Wimpey for their support, it truly is much appreciated. We’re confident that with this help, we will achieve our ambitious target to supply 25,000 boxes this year.”

All of the participating developments are open Thursday to Monday, between 11am and 5pm.
