Our East Scotland team has offered its support to the 5th Dalkeith Brownie Pack by supplying high-visibility vests to the girls and leaders, to help them be seen and stay safe on trips around the local area.

The Brownies are always keen to be out and about as much as possible, as Brown Owl for 5th Dalkeith Brownies Sarah van der Walt, explains: “Our girls love to be out and about in the local community, and we encourage them to obtain their road safety badge that teaches them how to keep themselves safe when they are out. However, the Brownies wear a brown uniform and that’s just not an ideal colour for being noticed in the darker months.

“We approached Taylor Wimpey East Scotland to see if they’d be able to help with children’s versions of their high-visibility vests that are worn on their construction sites, and we were delighted when they said they’d be happy to lend their support.

“We can now take the girls out any time of the year and feel reassured that they can be seen by motorists and other road users, plus having our pack name on the vests means the girls are easily identifiable if we’re in larger groups at events – we’re really thrilled with how smart they all look.”

Karen Armstrong, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, which is currently building new homes at The Scholars in Dalkeith, says: “We are committed to supporting the communities in which we build our high-quality new homes, so we were delighted to be able to make this contribution to 5th Dalkeith Brownies which will help to keep the girls safe on their outdoor adventures in the local area.”

There’s a superb selection of two and four-bedroom homes currently available at The Scholars.
