WEB Bonnyrigg Xmas Lights2 - Dec 2016

We have contributed to the festive cheer that will be enjoyed by the local community in Bonnyrigg this year, with a £2,000 donation towards the annual Christmas display that lights up the Midlothian town.

The annual Christmas Lights event will take place on Saturday 3rd December at The Bonnyrigg Toll in the heart of the town, where there’s a fun-packed day planned from 10am, with the lights being switched on at 4.30pm.

This is a great opportunity for our East Scotland team to be part of this growing and vibrant community

Pauline Mills, Land and Planning Director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, says: “We’re delighted to show our support for such a lovely event for the community that encourages people from across Bonnyrigg to come together to celebrate the start of the festive season.

“We’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.”

Councillor Derek Milligan adds: “Having Taylor Wimpey’s kind support and generosity has gone some way to ensuring that Bonnyrigg will once again enjoy a bright and festive event for the enjoyment of all.

“Our Christmas event celebrations will start from 10am and once again we will have a day that’s packed full of Christmas fun for everyone to enjoy.

“East Coast Radio Roadshow will be in town throughout the day, and we’d like to encourage everyone to come along and join in our Christmas celebrations.

“There’s a Santa’s Grotto, a charity fair, magicians, puppet shows, as well as street entertainment including clowns and fire eaters.

“Plus all five of our local primary schools will be singing Christmas carols and two lucky pupils from Lasswade Primary School will be switching on the Christmas lights at 4.30pm at The Bonnyrigg Toll.”

Louie Milliken, Chairwoman of the Bonnyrigg Community Events Committee, says: “The events committee rely on fundraising and sponsorship to run all its events, and the support from Taylor Wimpey East Scotland is a great boost for this hugely popular community day.”
