A Nottinghamshire cricket club is looking the part after receiving a £500 sponsorship boost from our East Midlands team. Plumtree Cricket Club used the sponsorship donation towards slick new navy polos shirts for its Junior Cricketers evenings, which takes place every Friday night for children at the club aged five to 11 years old from April through until September every season.
Plumtree Cricket Club, originally founded in 1815, is a local club based to the south of Nottingham in the beautiful village of Plumtree. Today the club has four senior men’s and women’s teams, plus colts teams from under-10s up to under-19s, with players showing an interest in cricket from the age of just five years old.
Ross Crombie, who looks after sponsorships at Plumtree Cricket Club, said: “Our Friday evenings are a great way of introducing all of the kids to the sport and their new polo shirts from Taylor Wimpey has definitely made the sessions more enjoyable for the children.
“We can’t thank Taylor Wimpey enough for its generous donation. The children have fallen in love with their new polo shirts and Taylor Wimpey’s support has definitely made them feel like they’re part of the club!”
Rob Curry, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, added: “Plumtree Cricket Club does an excellent job representing the Edwalton and South Nottingham communities. The hard work they put in to involve players of all ages shows their nature and exactly what they are about, so we were more than delighted to be able to fund the team’s new polo’s for the club’s Junior Evenings!”
