Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) is flying high following a donation of £250 from our West London business unit.
HIOWAA – based at Thruxton Airfield near Andover – first began service back in 2007 and in May this year the crew completed the charity’s 5,000th mission.
Every day the crew provides a prompt response to everything from road traffic collisions and sporting accidents to collapses and various other incidents throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight – many of which often turn out to be lifesaving missions.
Sherie Williams Ellen, charity manager for HIOWAA, says: “We are very grateful for Taylor Wimpey’s donation. It costs in excess of £4,000 a day to keep the air ambulance flying and as a charity, we receive no government or lottery funding.
“It is down to the generosity of the public, and companies such as Taylor Wimpey, that we are able to keep flying and saving lives”.
Emma Jones, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West London, says: “We are thrilled to be able to offer our support to the air ambulance, which provides a crucial local service for people in the community.
“HIOWAA is a charity organisation that relies heavily on donations in order to perform lifesaving missions, so we were only too pleased to sponsor such a worthy cause.”
