We’re delighted to have helped raise funds for charity by donating a luxury food hamper for a Help for Heroes raffle in Lower Upnor, Kent.

The hamper, worth £100, was donated to The Ship Inn as a raffle prize for their Help for Heroes family fun day.

The event was organised by ex-soldier Ade Dixon and his team who lives in Lower Upnor. Ade says: “There are a lot of ex-military people who use The Ship Inn so we decided to put on a fundraising event for Help for Heroes.

“My wife dropped one of our leaflets to Taylor Wimpey’s office in Lower Upnor and we were really pleased when they got in touch to donate the food hamper for the raffle. The support we had on the day was fantastic and despite the bad weather we had a really good turnout. We are looking to organise more fundraising events in the future.”

As well as the raffle the family fun day included a treasure hunt, live music and fairground games. In total, villagers managed to raise an impressive £4,200.

There’s a superb selection of family-size homes currently available to reserve now at Mariners Place.
