We have recently donated £250 towards Market Harborough Rotary Club’s annual SwiMarathon, which took place on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th March 2020. Our donation helped the club secure the use of Harborough Leisure Centre for the weekend event.

The Market Harborough Rotary Club’s SwiMarathon event saw a total of 42 teams enter the competition, comprising 186 swimmers, from primary school children to pensioners. The swimmer’s combined efforts on the day, came to an incredible total of 5,008 lengths swam. The money raised from the SwiMarathon event has been put towards local community organisations and Rotary charities within the area.

Commenting on the support it has received from Taylor Wimpey, Carole Baldam, Chair of the Swimarathon Committee at the Market Harborough Rotary Club, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey, and we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation. Our event gets bigger and better each year, meaning we are able to create more opportunities for people to enter and get involved with on the day. On behalf of everyone at the Market Harborough Rotary Club, I would like to say a huge thank you to the team at Taylor Wimpey.”

Rob Curry, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey East Midlands said: “We are delighted to have been able to support Market Harborough Rotary Club with a donation towards its annual SwiMarathon event.  The work we do is a lot more than just building high-quality homes. Being able to work with local businesses and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us and it’s great to know that we are helping to make a difference to the lives of people in local communities.”
