Milton Keynes school receives donation for secret garden project

Date: Thursday 30 July 2020

Whitehouse Primary School in Milton Keynes has received a £200 donation from our South Midlands team to be put towards their ongoing secret garden project.

The school’s aim is to transform part of the playground into an area where pupils can learn about different types of wildlife, create new animal habitats and grow their own fruit and vegetables. Our donation has been put towards a new bird hide which is to be placed at the end of the garden.

Inclusion Lead at Whitehouse Primary School, Benjamin Gilbert, has been working hard over recent weeks to create the structure of the bird hide and is hoping to have it completed for the children to enjoy once the school reopens in September.

Commenting on the project, he said: “We are extremely grateful to Taylor Wimpey for supporting our secret garden project with their kind donation. I am looking forward to putting the finishing touches to the bird hide and hope the children will enjoy the new and interesting wildlife that it will attract.”
