Taylor Wimpey’s Ministry II development in Newcastle recently welcomed Year 3 students from St Bartholomew’s Church of England Primary School for a fun-filled, educational visit.
The school, which is located just moments from Ministry II, visited to learn how new homes are built and toured the finished show homes at the development.
Christine Mitchell, year 3 teacher at St Bartholomew’s Church of England Primary School, describes how insightful the excursion was for the children.
She said: “Visiting the Ministry II development was a fantastic way to stimulate learning in an exciting out of school environment. We were able to give the children a taste of the workplace while teaching them about the construction of homes which they loved.
“The children took in a great deal of information so we are really grateful to the experts at Taylor Wimpey who took time out of their busy days to get involved.”
Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey North East, said the visit was a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn more about buildings and construction.
“Taylor Wimpey is always keen to partner with local schools on educational initiatives. We firmly believe that children learn by experiencing new environments and children simply love the idea of building things. We were thrilled to welcome the class along to the development.”
Christine concluded: “The children and I had a fantastic experience at Ministry II so I would like to thank Taylor Wimpey very much for inviting us along.”
