SW - Newport Half Marathon 2015

Our team at Taylor Wimpey South Wales has lent its support to the Newport Half Marathon by sponsoring the winners’ prizes to the tune of £1,000.

Now in its third year, the Newport Half Marathon raises money for St David’s Hospice Care, a charity which provides free care for people living with life-limiting illnesses.

This year’s fundraiser took place on Sunday 1st March and saw 1,845 people don their running gear and hit the streets of Newport. To show our support for the event, we donated £1,000 towards the winners’ prizes.

Sara Taylor, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey South Wales, says: “As a local housebuilder we are committed to supporting the communities in which we build our new homes, which is why we were thrilled to sponsor the Newport Half Marathon for the second year in a row.

“St David’s Hospice Care is a fantastic cause in Newport that helps so many local people. It was an absolute honour for us to play a part in supporting such a wonderful charity.”

The runners who completed the 13.1 mile route in the fastest times were awarded their prizes by Olympic gold medal-winning sprinter Darren Campbell, The Mayor of Newport Councillor Matthew Evans, and Newport Half Marathon Race Director Christine Vorres during a special presentation at the Newport Centre.

We are currently building new homes at several developments across Newport, including Allt Yr Yn, Lysaght Village, Tregwilym Gate and Lydia Beynon Gardens.
