The young people of Midsomer Norton have a new Summer Holiday club, thanks to our Bristol team who donated £500 towards the Wansdyke Play Association Summer Project. This free, drop-in youth club is held for 11-18 years olds in Midsomer Norton Town Hall in term time evenings, but due to popular demand and thanks to this cash boost, it will now be open during the Summer Holidays.
With access to games, sports, music and a range of activities, the Wansdyke Play Association’s provision brings together teenagers from across the town, providing a safe and enjoyable social environment.
Stuart Rouse, youth development worker at Wansdyke Play Association, comments: “For some time now, we have had requests to open outside term time, so we are really grateful to Taylor Wimpey for this donation, as it will help us do just that.”
Charlie Joseph, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Bristol, adds: “Our Hambleton Rise development is a short distance from the Town Hall and there are undoubtedly residents who benefit from this Youth Club. At Taylor Wimpey, we are committed to supporting communities as well as building homes, so we were delighted to help fund the club’s Summer opening when we heard of the opportunity.”
Concludes Stuart: “Families all over Midsomer Norton will be delighted that we are able to offer our facilities over the Summer Holidays - it is fantastic to get support from a local business like Taylor Wimpey.”
